Whitman Heritage Holiday Scan Day at The Center

Children visiting Santa Claus, Colfax, Washington, 1956, from the private collection of Marcia Wassem

Whitman Heritage Digital Collections, a project of Whitman County Library is holding a special holiday scanning event in The Center on Thursday, December 9, from 1:00-4:00 pm.

We will be scanning and digitizing historically significant photographs from holidays or celebrations. Community members may bring in up to 15 images per appointment to be added to our collection. After the photographs have been copied, all originals will go home with you, along with digital copies on a flash drive. We hope you will join in, helping us further document early culture in our area.

Scanning will be done by appointment only, to ensure the best service.

To participate, please contact Whitman County Library at 509-397-4366 or info@whitcolib.org.

Whitman Heritage Digital Collections records the early culture, industry and community life of Whitman County, Washington, and locations throughout Washington’s Palouse Region through their online site. The collection is made possible with support and funding from a grant through the Washington State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
