MED-Project Medicine Disposal Program

Libraries Offer Free, Pre-paid Mailers for Residents

Whitman County Library is partnering with the Medication Education & Disposal Project (MED-Project) as designated mail-back package distribution sites aimed at reducing medication misuse, abuse and poisonings. Participating branch locations will offer free, pre-paid mailers for local residents in Albion, Colton, Endicott, Farmington, Garfield, LaCrosse, Malden, Oakesdale, Rosalia, and Uniontown.

MED-Project, launched in mid-November of last year, offers Washington residents a free service to dispose of expired, unwanted or unused medications safely and conveniently. The service operates year around with convenient drop off sites and free, pre-paid mailers.

For more information about the MED-Project drug take-back program and available services in Washington State, including accepted types of medication, please contact MED-Project at (844) 633-7765, or visit www.med-project.org.

· Palouse – Police Department
· St. John – Pharmacy
· Tekoa – Pharmacy & City Hall (free, pre-paid mailers available at City Hall)
