“Cashup Davis: The Inspiring Life of a Secret Mentor” Author Talk Sept. 19 at Colfax Library
The story of Palouse pioneer Cashup Davis unfolds in the new book, “Cashup Davis: The Inspiring Life of a Secret Mentor”. Meet the authors Jeff Burnside and Gordon Davis (great grandson of Cashup Davis) in the Center at the Whitman County Library in Colfax Monday, Sept. 19 at 12:00-1:30 p.m.
The author talk will feature the successes found by Cashup Davis including his greatest challenge, building a hotel on top of Steptoe Butte in 1888 through excerpts from the book. WSU Press will have copies of books available to purchase at the event.
While attending author event, browse the Whitman County Historical Society Cashup Davis exhibit that includes the telescope from the hotel on top of Steptoe Butte as well as electronic display featuring the story and pictures of pioneer Cashup Davis.
