Blind Date with a Book

Fall in Love with a Good Book at Colfax Library

Want to find the book of your dreams? The Colfax Library is making that possible through our 4th annual “Blind Date with a Book” program, available all February.

You may be wondering, how do I go on a “Blind Date with a Book?” Browse our collection of wrapped up books, read the hints, unwrap, and enjoy! Not sure which to pick, ask the librarian to set you up.

Previous blind date goers thoroughly enjoyed the surprise of unwrapping the book, trying to guess the titles from our clever hints, and the opportunity to read something that they would have never found otherwise. Here are some reviews our blind daters have shared with us:

“It has a lot of heart and causes one to consider what it was like to be in that time”

“I LOVED this book from the start”

“It was gripping from the very beginning”

“When I unwrapped the book, imagine my surprise, I’d already read it! We must be soulmates since I read it a second time”

“I was terrified!…This book is ugly but beautiful; horrifying but uplifting”

“[I loved] how it opened my eyes to an era I didn’t understand before.”

To sweeten the deal, Fonk’s Coffeehouse of Colfax has generously donated a romantic coffee date for one lucky grand prize winner. To enter, blind daters will “Rate your Date” using a scale that ranges from “major dud” to “red hot read!” All entries are due by March 10.
